I feel very indebted to Farm Neck for seeing some value in my early landscape drawings and for issuing me the challenge of this project. Having been won over by oil paint, and the relative ease of liquid color, I have not visited this medium for some time.

Facing the elegantly sculpted course of Farm Neck, with its surrounding natural beauty, my piece of charcoal and accompanying eraser seemed like meager means indeed. The task was daunting, overwhelming and just often enough, very rewarding.

Unable to say it all, I focused on individual pieces of the puzzle in hopes of capturing some essence of the whole.
